Position Purpose:
To provide assurance to the Transnet Corporate environment, by ensuring that risk management is proactively applied and
embedded into business processes. To drive the desired behaviour and provides a sound decision making framework.
Position outputs:

Management of the Group Assets Insurance Programme including Aviation and Marine

Management of the Annual Insurance Renewal

Underwriting Risk surveys

Align insurance with risk targets and Transnet business strategy

Review, benchmark and implement insurance and risk best practices to enhance business effectiveness and efficiencies

Review and update insurance policies, processes and procedures

Overseeing company insurance by way of implementing systems, procedures and operational methodologies by ensuring

Monitor service providers to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and Master Agreements

Position Challenges

Limited / no knowledge of Transnet environment especially the Operations.

Limited / no knowledge of the insurance industry and the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

Limited understanding of the Transnet insurance programme (4 portfolios managed by more than one broker firm).

Inability to build relationships, partnerships and networks with relevant stakeholders (both internally and externally).

Qualifications & Experience:

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7)

Minimum 6-8 years’ applicable experience in a large enterprise of which at least 3 years at managerial level
